Our new Digital Lead introduces us to exciting new digital apprenticeships

We caught up with one of our newest staff members, Shaun Wheatcroft, who introduced us to an exciting new range of digital apprenticeships on offer. Love making Instagram Reels or keeping up with the latest trending TikTok sounds? Shaun told us how you could get paid for doing just that. What’s your role at college? I’m the new Team Leader for the digital apprenticeships that we offer here at Chesterfield College. We’ve recognised a real demand for digital apprentices and so we have expanded our digital offering to account for that. We’re now focusing on matching creative apprentices, who have a real eye for what works well on digital platforms, with the companies that need them. I’ve been brought in to help do that because I’ve had an extensive career in marketing, PR and journalism. What new digital apprenticeships do we have on offer?

  What do apprentices and employers have to look forward to from our digital apprenticeships?
  What did you do previous to taking on this role at Chesterfield College? Previously to this, I worked in digital marketing for 12 years. After studying journalism at university, I went on to become a sports correspondent and then ended up getting into sports PR. I’ve worked for a range of different companies doing PR and digital marketing, but I’m now at a point where I want to teach the skills I’ve acquired and give back through education.
