We can call upon our apprentice employers (where possible) to generate support for mock interviews, workshops on interview techniques, utilise our careers guidance team to support students with IAG and raising aspirations, and delve further into the world of work with professional experiences.
Home-schooled support
A series of dedicated, smaller taster sessions that have been designed to support young people with the transition from home school, smaller settings to college life, providing support to make the decision on further post16 education options. These events include support from our student experience and wellbeing team providing their knowledge and expertise in supporting young people.
Work experience
A small number of work experience placements are available to those in Year 11 and Year 10, on a first come first served basis. This is via an application process and is only based within our business support areas of college, not within teaching. These spaces are on offer at select times of the year, early Winter term and late Summer term.
SEN transition events
Our SEN transition evens are to support parents, carers, guardians of young people with SEN needs to visit the college at quieter times, meet with designated teams (Pathways, wellbeing, SEND team) and receive detailed information on course progression routes, support structures and ask questions. Some sessions can be organised via schools to include pathways tasters.
