Visitors to website

When a user visits www.chesterfield.ac.uk the College collects standard internet log information and visitor details for behaviour patterns.  It does this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the different part of the site.  It collects information in a way which does not identify anyone.   If we collect personally identifiable information through a web form on our site we will be clear with the purpose when collecting such information.  We monitor and record connections to and from college servers.  We do this for security, statistical and performance measurement purposes, in order to detect and prevent abuse.  The monitoring of data we collect includes browser types, domain names, traffic volumes, temporal data, IP information and data posted from web-forms on our site.
