The course is for those who wish to gain experience and skills in the use of computer software as a drawing aid and is suitable for those with no previous experience in CAD. It is an industry recognised qualification which is designed to lead you step by step from the basics to the production of industry standard dimensioned drawings. The course is delivered using practical based tutorials.

Course Structure

Modules on this course include:

  • Using a CAD station safely
  • Using key & components in 2D CAD software
  • Creating lines and shapes relative to a co-ordinate system
  • Using text, hatch and simple dimensioning routines
  • Modifying existing drawings
  • Outputting a 2D drawing layout

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements but basic computer literacy skills would be beneficial.

Coursework, practical exam, portfolio
