This course is for non-technical employees in environments where they come into contact with Hybrid vehicles such as:
- Managers
- Valeters
- Parts Advisors
- Sales and Aftersales Advisor
- Event Staff
- Vehicle Recovery Personnel
- Vehicle Dismantlers
- Vehicle Damage Assessors
- Electric/ Hybrid Professional Vehicle Drivers
The course is delivered at our purpose built automotive centre on Wharf Lane, just down the road from our Infirmary Road campus.
Course Structure
This course will provide learners with significant core knowledge on how to work safely around Electric/ Hybrid vehicles.
This course does NOT deliver or guide learners on how to maintain Electric/ Hybrid vehicles. Modules will include:
- The types of Electric/ Hybrid vehicles available
- Hazards associated with motor vehicle high energy electrical systems
- Working safely around Electric/ Hybrid vehicles including charging
Entry Requirements
There are no formal entry requirements for this qualification and learners are not expected to have any prior knowledge or experience, however an interest in the subject area is advisable.

Progression
Upon successful completion, candidates can progress onto qualifications that further develop their knowledge of either working safely in emergency or recovery situations, or within a technical role carrying out routine servicing and maintenance activities on Electric/Hybrid vehicles. For example the Level 2 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle Routine Maintenance Activities.
