Withdrawal of Team Leader and Operations Management Apprenticeships

In recent weeks, the government has announced a withdrawal of funding for 16 apprenticeships nationwide. This includes our Team Leader and Operations Management offering. 

Please be assured these changes do not affect those currently on an apprenticeship programme with The Chesterfield College Group. Funding will remain in place for these students, and we are committed to supporting them in completing their apprenticeships without disruption. 

Apprenticeships being withdrawn:

  • Level 3 Team Leader
  • Level 5 Operations Manager 

In response to these government changes, we are introducing a new range of management and leadership courses that will complement our existing offerings. This reflects the need to support employers in developing staff and recognising key skills gaps for management positions, such as communication, planning, management, leadership, and problem-solving.

These courses have been designed with employers in mind to ensure skills gaps are closed, and students are ready to enter the workforce on completion. 

Courses currently available:  

  • ILM Level 2 Certificate in Team Leading 
    • This qualification is designed for new and aspiring team leaders, providing an in-depth introduction to the role and responsibilities of the team leader.

Courses launching from August 2026:

  • Level 2 Modular Training 
    • Planned start: August 2026
      • A flexible, unaccredited “pick and mix” model consisting of six standalone modules:
      • Foundations of leadership and management
      • Effective communication skills
      • Performance management
      • People management and emotional intelligence
      • Time management and prioritisation
      • Conflict resolution and problem solving
  • Associate Project Manager Apprenticeship Standard (L4)
    • Planned start: November 2026
      • Delivery: 15 months + 3-month EPA gateway
