How to Apply

Applying for a course at Chesterfield College is simple. Follow the steps below to your start your journey today.

1. Choose your course

Start by exploring our courses here to find the one that best matches your interests, goals, and previous qualifications. Each course page includes information about entry requirements, course content, and future career pathways.

Before applying, make sure you meet the course entry requirements.

If you’re unsure which course is right for you, or if you need advice and guidance our admissions and careers team will help guide you. You can contact them at advice@chesterfield.ac.uk or visit us at our next open day.

2. Complete the Application online

Once you’ve chosen your course, click ‘Apply’ on the course page and complete the online application form following the on-screen instructions. You will be asked to provide:

  • Your personal details (including your contact details)
  • Your education history
  • Your support needs (if applicable) so we can help make things fair for you

If you need help applying, contact our admissions team at admissions@chesterfield.ac.uk or attend an open event where you can apply in person.

3. Attend an Interview (if required)

Most courses require an interview with a member of our teaching team. This is not a test. It’s an opportunity for us to learn more about you and for you to ask any questions about the course.

Our admissions team will invite you to attend an interview by email and text message. The email will contain everything you need to know about the interview, including the date and time, the location of the interview and what you’ll need to bring.

4. Receive Your Offer

After reviewing your application and interview, we will contact you via email with the outcome. If successful, you will receive a conditional offer to study.

If you are not offered a place on the course you applied for, we will talk you through all other options that may be available.

5. Attend a keep in touch session

If you are aged 16-18, you may be required to attend a keep in touch session before you enrol. These sessions are designed to give you a taste of college life and help you get to know your future tutors, classmates, and the campus. We will contact you by email if we need you to attend a Keep In Touch session.

6. Enrol and Get Started

Once you have met the conditions of your offer, you’ll receive information about enrolment, and what you need to prepare before the course begins. We will send this information to you by email and SMS text in July if your course starts in September.

7. Start Your Course

The exciting part begins! You’ll join a supportive learning community, meet your tutors and classmates, and start building the knowledge and skills that will help shape your future. Whether you’re working towards a new career, developing your skills, or taking the next step in education, your journey starts here.
