NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Autism

Having a clear understanding of the misconceptions, diagnoses and support surrounding autism are just some of the essential skills needed when working in mental health. This course is also ideal for anyone who wants to understand more about neurodivergence and decrease misinformation around autism.

This course is made up of six units:

• How autistic people process sensory information
• The characteristics that may be present in autistic individuals
• The conditions that commonly occur with autism
• Common misconceptions surrounding autism
• How speech, language and communication may differ in autistic people
• How legislation and guidance underpins support

This course in Understanding Autism is useful for any role, particularly those with line management responsibilities to support their teams. This course is delivered online through the Learning Curve platform so students’ study flexibly, at their own pace.
