On this page you will find out everything you need to know about enrolment and joining The Chesterfield College Group.
Once you apply to study at college you will have an interview and will be offered a conditional place on your chosen course. If you accept your place, you will need to enrol during the Summer before term starts.
You will meet your Tutors to check the course you are enrolling to is still correct for you and then it is a simple process of formally completing your enrolment documentation.
During enrolment, we will confirm key personal data, take your photograph for us to issue you with your ID card, and ensure you have all the information you need for your first day.
This includes your timetable and start date for your course.
You will receive an email with a specific date and time to attend college for your enrolment activity. Please make every effort to attend that session. If you are unable to attend this session, please book an alternative session.

Remember to check your emails carefully as all communications will be sent to the email address we hold for you. The enrolment email will tell you everything you need to know for your visit.
If you need additional learning support or advice from our maths and English teams, they will be on hand to help throughout enrolment too.
Fully signed bursary forms can be processed during your enrolment visit if you bring all evidence required.
When you arrive, please report to main reception where a member of staff will welcome and support you during your visit.
During enrolment, you will have the chance to meet staff and tutors, ask questions and make sure you are ready to start college

You will need to bring a form of ID (e.g. driving licence, bank card, birth certificate etc.) and proof of grades including English and Maths to ensure you meet the entry criteria. In addition to the above, adults will also need to bring in evidence of their universal credit statement, any payslips and bank statements if we need to carry out an assessment for a fee waiver. If you are not a UK national, you will need proof of eligibility to study in the UK, such as your passport, a biometric residency permits or any home office documentation. Please note. If you are an existing student and you have been offered a place for September 2025 then you do not need to attend an enrolment session during the Summer unless you are emailed and requested to do so. Please check your emails for instructions on how to confirm your enrolment online.

The entry requirements vary depending on the course type and level. Entry requirements can be found on the course page on the Chesterfield College website. This will also be discussed with you at your interview.
Yes, we offer the opportunity to switch courses throughout September and early October. Contact your tutor as soon as possible so we can help you switch. If you are unsure of your options, you can also arrange a careers appointment by visiting the student and apprentice services hub or emailing careersteam@chesterfield.ac.uk.
To update your address please email enrolment@chesterfield.ac.uk. To update your name, you will need to do this by visiting the Enrolment Office which is based in S010 on the main College campus and provide legal documentation that confirms your name change such as deed poll, birth certificate, marriage certificate, passport.
For courses which start in September, the application deadline is October half term. Some courses have multiple intake dates throughout the year so please check the start date on the course page on the website, or speak with the admissions team if you are unsure if you can still apply.
You will need to visit the Chesterfield College website to apply. Once you have decided on the right course for you, click ‘Apply Now’ on the course page on the College website. This will take you to the application portal where you will be required to fill out the online application. If you are experiencing difficulties applying online, please contact us on 01246 500500 where a member of the team can talk you through it. You can also attend one of our open evenings where a member of the team can also support you with making an application. Contact us or visit the events page on our website for more information.
If you have a learning difficulty, medical condition, or mental health diagnosis, please bring any supporting evidence with you. Our SEND team will be available during enrolment to discuss support and exam access arrangements.

If you have received more than one invitation to enrol this is because you have a conditional offer to study with us on more than one course. You only need to attend the enrolment for your preferred course.
