Construction Skills Hub

Based in Staveley, the Construction Skills Hub enhances our existing construction training by providing the opportunity to develop skills in a live on-site centre.

The Hub is situated at the Devonshire Group’s Mastin Moor site which has planning permission for 650 homes, a care facility, local centre and extensive parkland.

The hub is managed by Chesterfield College and the University of Derby. The first cohort of learners started at Chesterfield College in September 2023 and moved on to site 2024. They have gained on-site experience through the groundworks for the Hub onwards throughout its development.

The Hub

The site provides training in site and bench joinery, brickwork, groundworks and electrical installation but in time will offer opportunities in retrofit and green technologies.

Over the next decade the Hub aims to provide careers insights, training and work experience for over 5,000 learners.
