Pathways to Personal and Social Development is designed for students with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND), some students have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP). The programme provides a supportive, structured, and nurturing environment where you can develop the personal, social, and emotional skills that you need. You will achieve an Entry 3 qualification and will work towards either Functional Skills or GCSE English and Maths.

This programme helps you become more confident, helping you develop coping skills for every day life and make plans for the future.

Your timetable will include:

  • Independent Living and life skills
  • Health and Wellbeing
  • Functional Skills or GCSE English and maths
  • Digital Skills
  • Planning for my future
  • Supported Work Experience

Course Structure

While you are in Pathways you will become more independent and increase your self esteem, you will develop the skills needed for everyday life and adulthood. Staff will support you in making plans for your future and how to achieve them.

What next?

After completing the programme, you may:

  • Return to Pathways to Personal and Social Development to develop your skills further
  • Move on to the Pathways to Vocational Learning course
  • Move on to the Pathways to Work course
  • Move on to a vocational course in College
  • Move into employment or supported work

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements on foundation learning courses.
