This course is a work-based qualification for those looking to go into a wide range of roles across the health, social and community care sectors. It combines health and social care education with practical skills acquired through work placements or existing employment. There are two routes available, one for those already employed in health, social or community care and the other for those not in employment who will undertake a placement in a suitable care-based role.
Course Structure
You will study: Reflective and Personal Development Skills, Essential Sciences for Person Centred Care, Holistic Assessment Delivery and Implementation of H&SC Interventions, Foundations for Effective Collaborative Practice, Promoting Health, Wellbeing and Independence, Using and Evaluating Evidence to Inform Practice, Leadership and Management.
Entry Requirements
A relevant Level 3 qualification, English and maths (grade C/4 or above at GCSE or Level 2 equivalent). Mature students with relevant experience will also be considered.

Progression
Successful completion of the FdSc Professional Practice in Health and Social Care and further specialised study can lead on to a wide range of roles including: Nurse, Occupational therapist, Social worker.
