Building on the knowledge gained from the Level 3 Subsidiary Diploma, you will expand your understanding of both mechanical engineering and electrical/electronic principles, applying them in more complex and industry-relevant contexts.

You will have access to specialist workshops where you will further develop your skills working with mechanical components, electrical circuits, programmable control systems and automation equipment. You will refine your ability to design, build, test and fault-find engineering systems, preparing you for the demands of modern engineering roles.

Course Structure

The EAL Level 3 Extended Diploma in Engineering Technologies is a comprehensive, practical, and theory-based qualification that equips learners with the technical knowledge, practical skills, and employability competencies required for a successful career in the engineering sector or further study in higher education.

  • QET3/063 – Electrical Power for Engineering Applications
  • QET3/010 – PLC
  • QET3/033 – Maintenance of Fluid Power Systems
  • QET3/039 – Mechanical Engineering Principles
  • QET3/006 – Computer Aided Design (CAD)
  • QET3/003A – Further Engineering Mathematics – Optional added unit

Level 2 Qualification in an Engineering
You must have already achieved a Level 3 EAL Subsidiary Diploma in Engineering.
