This course provides a solid understanding of theory and develops the practical skills needed to work as a carpenter or joiner. Examples of carpentry and joinery include hanging doors, fixing architrave and skirting, constructing kitchen and bathroom units and setting out and fixing roofs.
Course Structure
You will study the following mandatory units: Health, safety and welfare in construction, Principles of building construction, information and communication, Carry out first fix flooring and roofing, Carry out first fix frames, partitions and stairs, Carry out second fixing operations, Carry out carpentry maintenance, Set up and operate a circular saw
Entry Requirements
Level 1 Diploma in Carpentry and Joinery. Industry experience is also considered.

Fees and funding
Free for First Full Level 2 for 19-23 year olds. Free Adult funding available dependant on learner circumstances otherwise course costs apply.
Progression
You can now progress to the Level 3 Diploma in Site Carpentry. You can also seek employment, progress in your current role or apply for an apprenticeship to engage further study.
