Our plumbing students have seen their grades soar with many progressing into apprenticeships throughout the pandemic.

Our plumbing tutors are passionate about training and preparing our students for employment. The course is 50% practical and 50% theory and students are encouraged to push and prepare themselves for the next level of study.

The students on this year’s courses have really excelled in their skills development. Due to the restrictions of lockdown, they have been coming into the workshop to focus on practical work while completing theory work at home. The students have loved this way of working and it may become an approach the course tutors will utilise on a permanent basis in the future.

Our Level 1 students haa taster of what to expect at Level 2 as they learned about boiler, radiator and toilet systems in the workshop, benefitting from the pre-installed equipment that allows them to put their research and knowledge into practice.

The classroom is a place to explore, a place to learn and a place to prepare for the world of work

The plumbing students at Chesterfield College complete their studies with a comprehensive knowledge of the plumbing industry, but also with improved confidence and skills that will allow them to succeed in life as well as work.

This year we have had 7 fantastic students move onto apprenticeships and start their journey towards employment. We have been incredibly impressed with the talent we have, and we are expecting more of our students to follow the same path in the future.
