Study in our Digital Innovation Centre 

The Digital Innovation Centre offers open, airy classrooms equipped with powerful, industry-leading technology to assist with the design, production and rendering of a wide variety of digital technologies such as game design and augmented reality projects.

This includes Oculus Quest 2 Virtual Reality Headsets for students to use and some of the best 3D printing technology available in the whole of the East Midlands education network. Come and visit us to check out the Digital Innovation Centre yourself and we’ll show you the space. You’ll be working on high-specification computers and using the latest software and techniques to develop content for your course.

We have a LEAP mentor in the digital department who is there to help students with their studies, any struggles they might face and any personal struggles that occur during your time with us. There is always someone to support you and talk to you.

Work placements are a key part of the digital technologies courses. Despite the pandemic, work placements still went ahead; our students were creating 3D assets, marketing materials and 3D models.   

A few examples of what our students have been working on this year include: 

  • Promoting community cohesion and work experience opportunities through 3D environments and 3D modelling software. 
  • Adult sports education through 2D and 360 activities and training. 
  • Developing and updating websites for local companies. 

There will be lots of opportunities for you to experience that we will discuss with you throughout your studies.

T Levels

T Level in Digital Production, Design and Development - digital production, design and development

Students who complete a T Level in Technical Qualification in Digital Production, Design and Development will be able to choose between moving into a skilled occupation or further study; for example, a higher or degree level Apprenticeship, or higher-level technical study, including higher education.

Industry Work Placements play a vital part of the T-Level programme and students will spend over 315 hours with 1 or 2 employers over the 2 years. The knowledge and skills taught and developed in the classroom can be refined during this time and designated industry professionals will support students to progress and become competent.
