Travelling to college from Matlock

If you’re travelling to Chesterfield College from Matlock there are a number of easy-to-access travel routes available to you.

Car

From the centre of Matlock to the centre of Chesterfield, it takes approximately 20 minutes by car.

There is a free student car park available at the Infirmary Road campus operated on a first come, first served basis.

Bus

The Stagecoach X17 service runs throughout the day and takes approximately 35-40 minutes from Matlock, stopping at Walton, Kelstedge and Spancarr.

Your bus travel could be free if you are eligible for the bursary.

Train

Trains are available from Matlock station to Chesterfield throughout the day (on average, 17 times each day), taking just over an hour travel time. There are no direct routes, you will be required to change at Derby.

The train service is operated by East Midlands Railway.
