This course gives you the opportunity to learn the key skills and knowledge required to deliver Sports Massage Therapy. If you’d like to forge a career in Sports Massage then this course is ideally suited to you. The course itself combines scientific theory and extensive practical training. You will develop knowledge and understanding of anatomy and physiology related to sports massage. In addition you will develop an understanding of the differences between soft tissue dysfunction and injury and the role that sports massage plays.

You will also learn skills and techniques that will enable you to plan, prepare, and apply sports massage therapy to prevent injury and improve performance.

The course runs on a part-time basis, 4 hours a week, 1.15-5.45pm.

Entry Requirements

You must be over 18 years old, physically able to do the work and have good communication skills.

Assessment methods

Practical assessments, case studies, workbooks and a Anatomy & physiology exam.

Progression

On completion of the course, learners will be able to gain employment and obtain insurance to work as a sports massage therapist. Learners can also progress on to the Level 4 Sports Massage Certificate.
