Course Structure

You’ll also complete practical tasks in a real school or college environment to help connect your learning to the workplace.

Entry Requirements

To enrol, you must:

  • Be volunteering or working in a school or college for at least 12 hours per week
  • Have a placement arranged in a suitable setting (we can help advise on this if needed)
  • Be willing to complete a taster assignment
  • Hold or apply for an enhanced DBS check (support available through the college)

Suitable placements include primary schools, secondary schools, and special schools.

Assessment methods

You’ll be assessed through written work, observations in your placement, and practical tasks. We offer flexible assessment methods and personalised support from your tutor and assessor throughout the course.

Fees and funding

Free for Eligible 16-18 year olds. Adult funding available dependant on learner circumstances otherwise course costs apply.

Progression

Succesful completion of this course can lead you to study the Level 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools.
