This course is ideal for people who are interested in a career in the health and social care sector. This could include caring for elderly people in a care home, working with adults or children with learning disabilities or helping people recover from illness or injury in a hospital or care centre. The Level 2 Diploma will develop knowledge and skills learned at Level 1 or can be a good introduction to the sector.
The Level 2 programme provides a good incite to both the health and social care sector, the course has a wide range of units in which you can explore and develop your skills and knowledge across both areas. You will benefit from working with teaching staff that have a vast range of experience within both health and social care. The course has been designed to help you develop the skills, knowledge and understanding to make the correct choices for yourself to progress into the next stage of your aspirational journey. You will develop the important interpersonal skills needed for a career in health and social care such as communication, collaboration, and teamwork.
The health of the course focusses on the development of health through the various life stages of different service users. You will understand a range of lifestyle factors that can impact on health positively and negatively and explore the human body systems and the care of disorders.
The social side of the course focusses on the health and social care values which are important aspects of the area itself and are a successful link between our course and further progression or employment. There will be opportunity to practice these care values within a health and social care work placement and assess role plays where you are able to further develop your communication, resilience, teamwork, and self-development skills.
