Successful completion of this course will give you an essential mathematics qualification to support a range of career paths and further study.

GCSE Mathematics encompasses the broad mathematics topics of number, geometry, statistics and algebra. There is a significant amount of problem solving using mathematics techniques to prepare you for entry into a wide variety of courses and careers.

Throughout the year you will complete assessments that will help guide you towards, and give you the confidence, to complete the course. Your final qualification will then be based upon the completion of three examinations, including non-calculator and calculator papers, in May/June. You must complete all three examinations set by the examination board (AQA). There are two tiers (foundation or higher) and you will discuss which is most appropriate with your tutor before taking the examination.

Contact time: 3 hours a week, Monday 13:15 – 16:30, Wednesday 09:00 – 12:15, or Thursday 17:30 – 20:45.
