If you’re thinking about what happens after your time at college, the sheer amount of options can be confusing. It’s important to evaluate the various options you can take and assess which is the best option for you! Don’t worry though, you’re not on your own. We offer plenty of help and support when weighing up your options. In person, you can pop into our Student and Apprentice Services Hub next to the Heartspace, in which you can access specialist advice and support to help you with decisions about your future career path. Let’s have a look at some of the most popular options to consider after you complete your program of study with us:

Higher/Further education

You can take your education further by progressing to a higher-level course. That could be at university but also at college as we offer a range of higher education courses too. You can progress to a course that follows on from your previously studied course, or if you decide on a change in subject you can take a different course subject as your qualification can still be eligible as an entry requirement. Apprenticeships

Are you looking to get real work experience, alongside continuing your education? If so, this may be the option for you. Apprenticeships allow you to learn on the job whilst earning a wage. You also gain a qualification alongside invaluable experience in your desired industry, leaving you with a variety of options when coming to the next steps in your career. Apprenticeships are a wonderful way to get your foot on the career ladder, learn and become a valued member of staff. Our apprenticeships team based in student services next to the Heartspace are the ideal team to speak to if you have any questions about anything to do with apprenticeships. Full Time Employment

Are you looking to start earning and gaining experience straight away? By going straight into employment, you can take a break from coursework and focus on gaining the first-hand skills required to pursue your long-term career (although the learning never stops!).
