What happens at your interview?

Back to Students

After we receive your application for a course we will book you in for an interview with us.

You will be notified of the date for your interview via email/letter/text – should you be unable to make this allocated date/time please let us know as soon as possible so we can book in an alternative to suit you.

The interview itself will take approximately 3.5 hours and includes:

  • You will get an Admissions (IAG) interview covering – reasons of application , careers goals, research etc
  • You will then sit a BKSB – Maths and English assessment to gauge your learning level
  • You will then go on a brief college tour
  • You will then have your curriculum interview and hopefully leave with an offer

The only exceptions to this will be those students from Shirebrook Academy, Tibshelf school and Outwood Newbold Academy, where the first part of the admission interview will be carried out on the school premises by our admissions team. Adult learners that will go straight to curriculum interviews. You should always bring in predicated grades and if we require any evidence of course work i.e. portfolio we will request this in the interview letter.
