Course Overview

Delivered from the Construction Skills Hub which is based in the centre of a live construction site, this course is designed to equip students with a comprehensive range of skills across multiple trades within the construction industry.

Course Objectives

  • Develop a broad understanding of various construction trades.
  • Gain practical skills in multiple construction disciplines.
  • Improve health & safety awareness on a construction site.
  • Prepare for employment within the construction industry.

Course Content

By completing the programme students will achieve a Level 2 Certificate in Multi-Skills qualification, covering the following units.

  • Workplace health, safety and welfare
  • Wall and Floor Tiling Skills
  • Painting and Wallpapering Skills
  • Basic Carpentry and Joinery Skills
  • Install basic plumbing

As additional enrichment embedded within the programme, students will also receive training in the following subjects.

  • Groundworks
  • Bricklaying
  • Electrical
  • Problem Solving and Critical Thinking
  • Adopting a Growth Mindset
  • Professional resilience

Entry Requirements

You must be interested in a career within the construction industry. Willingness to comply with strict health and safety rules. Excellent attendance record. There is no minimum age for this programme.

Assessment Methods

  • Practical assessments and written tasks.


Progression options for students would include:

  • Successful completion of work experience
  • Apprenticeship.
  • Employment.
  • Further learning – Level 2/3 trade specific Diploma
