Students will receive information about uniform and dress code, at enrolment and induction. The College has a standard dress code that applies to all students which is outlined below.
If there is any specific clothing or personal protective equipment students need to wear whilst attending College, we will provide the student with this during their first few weeks of the College term.
Students must:
- Always wear their college lanyard and ID when on college premises (it is ok not to wear a lanyard in workshop spaces for health and safety reasons. Tutors will advice.). If students forget or lose their ID they must report to the main reception for a temporary day pass which costs £1.00, or to find out how to get a new one if lost.
- Wear modest clothes that cover skin. We ask students not to wear things like revealing vest tops, crop tops, transparent clothing, very ripped jeans, very small shorts or skirts, and clothes that show underwear.
- Wear clothes that don’t offend others. Do not wear clothes with:
- swear words
- sexual words or pictures
- political messages
- messages that are unkind about others
- College staff need see staff, student and visitors faces, so we can see if intruders have come into college. It helps us communicate with better too. We know that sometimes students need to wear headwear for religious reasons and some students have an Adjustments Permit and may need a hood for disability reasons. This is ok and if students are worried about anything they should speak to their tutor.
- Wear safe shoes that are easy to walk around in e.g. If you wear heals that are too high, you might injure yourself or other people.
- Wear clothes that are clean.
