Frequently Asked Questions
Progress is monitored through regular assessments and reviews. Parents/carers will be invited to a Parents Evening in term 1 and may receive progress reports throughout the year. You can also contact the tutor or course leader directly if you wish to discuss any information shared with you.
Encourage your child to speak with their Personal Tutor as soon as possible. Subject tutors have a wealth of experience and a wide range of strategies to support students who find themselves struggling. The earlier concerns are shared, the sooner the support can be put in place.
Attendance is tracked daily. If a student is absent without authorisation, we may send a text, email, or call home.
Poor punctuality or unauthorised absences are followed up by the Tutor or curriculum team. If patterns emerge, or attendance is persistently poor, then a member of the curriculum team will contact you to discuss the issues and try and support the required improvements. Continued issues may lead to formal warnings or meetings with parents.
Your first point of contact is usually the designated Personal Tutor. For wellbeing concerns, the safeguarding or pastoral team can be contacted.
