If you’re aged 19 and over many of our course options are free or have funding options available. We also offer CV writing workshops, mock interviews and can offer impartial careers information, advice and guidance.

Functional skills and other short courses

Our collection of FREE* Functional Skills courses are useful to anyone, whether in or out of employment. Skills in English, maths and computing are essential for every employee, no matter what their role. Employers who have implemented short English, maths or IT courses to groups of employees have noticed significant improvements to efficiency, team morale, ambition and communication.

If looking for employment, these courses are a fantastic way to bolster a CV and job application to prospective employers.

Multiply – Improving your numeracy skills

Multiply is a new government-funded programme to help adults improve their numeracy skills.

If you’re aged 19+, live in Derbyshire and don’t have maths GCSE at grade 4/C (or equivalent), you can access these FREE numeracy courses to build your confidence with numbers and progress towards earning a qualification.

Employability skills to get you into work

The Employability Team work with local employers who are looking to grow their workforce of local people looking for work. Here at Chesterfield College, we will provide you with learning and development opportunities, to support you to gain entry-level qualifications to start your chosen career.
