Foundation studies students raise cash for Derbyshire Air Ambulance
A group of proud foundation studies students from Chesterfield College handed over a cheque for £340 to Derbyshire Air Ambulance this morning. They raised the money after spending the last few months making gifts and decorations from recycled materials to sell at themed markets held in the Heartspace at Chesterfield College.
David Brocklehurst, representing Derbyshire Air Ambulance, visited college to collect the cheque and explain how important charitable donations are to the work of the Air Ambulance Service. He told the students about his first-hand experience of being in need of this vital emergency service after an accident out in the Peak District where it was vital he received emergency treatment quickly.
“Thank you for all your hard work to raise this money. It will buy vital medical equipment and supplies to keep Derbyshire Air Ambulance in the air and serving the area. The service is completely funded from charitable donations so it is money that comes from fundraising efforts like yours which are a big help to keep the team flying.”
