AAT

Are you looking to start a job in finance? Have you just qualified in a trade and need to understand the basics of accounting?

Whatever your situation, we have AAT courses ranging from Level 1 to Level 4 starting early in the new year that can help jump-start your career.

Access to HE

Access to HE Diploma Level 3: Nursing and Midwifery

Are you looking to start a career in Adult Nursing, Child Nursing, Midwifery or Mental Health Nursing? Have you been out of education and need to get the qualifications, academic skills and knowledge necessary to progress on to university-level study?

This course prepares you to progress onto a university course in Nursing, Midwifery and other health-related professions.

Level 4 HNC in Mechanical Engineering

The HN Engineering course has been designed to enable direct progression to a full honours degree course upon successful completion. You will have the opportunity to investigate 3D printing, mechatronics, Stirling engines, drone technology, robotics and advanced mathematics relevant to engineering.

You can opt to pursue a specialist pathway in mechanical, electrical/electronic or general engineering for the diploma part of the qualification. The HN is split into two elements – the certificate and the diploma. The certificate can be studied over one year full-time or two years part-time. The diploma can also be studied for one year full-time and two years part-time.

ESOL

Our course is an option for individuals who don’t speak English as their first language but are keen to develop their language skills. Our ESOL courses aim to help you with your reading, writing, and speaking in English. We offer courses for beginners as well as courses for students with more knowledge of English. You don’t need any qualifications to be able to enrol on one of our courses.

Apprenticeships – February, March and April starts

Level 3 Content Creator

A content creator makes and delivers vibrant and eye-catching content for digital channels and platforms such as websites and social media. This content often targets a specific end-user or audience.

The primary role of a Content Creator in any business is to create content that engages with an audience, and importantly; helps the business to achieve its goals. The role is found both in the creative and non-creative industries.

Duration: 15 months

Level 3 Data Technician

Do you love looking at data and interpreting it to help make key decisions? Then this apprenticeship could be perfect for you. The broad purpose of the occupation is to source, format and present data securely in a relevant way for analysis using basic methods. In this role you will use data to help support business outcomes; blend data from multiple sources as directed and apply legal and ethical principles when manipulating data. Your work is crucial and could lead to increased profits and success for the business.

Duration: 18 months

Level 3 Team Leader

The Team Leader/Supervisor Apprenticeship is for someone who can take responsibility for managing a team or discrete project. They can support, manage and develop team members, manage projects, and plan and monitor workloads and resources.

It is also appropriate for those already in management roles who may already have developed practical experience but wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills.

On completion, apprentices may choose to register as associate members with the Chartered Management Institute and/or the Institute of Leadership and Management, to support their professional career development and progression.

Duration: 12 – 18 months

Level 5 Operations Manager 

This apprenticeship is suitable for professional managers from all sectors, and will typically take around two and a half years to complete, although the exact duration will be dependent on the previous experience of the individual.

This apprenticeship has been designed to provide access to development opportunities for as wide a range of individuals as possible. This includes individuals who are at the start of their careers and who wish to take their first steps into professional management, as well as those who may already have developed practical experience but who wish to develop their theoretical understanding of management skills.

Level 3 Customer Service

The main purpose of a customer service specialist is to be a ‘professional’ for direct customer support within all sectors and organisations. You are an advocate of customer service who acts as a referral point for dealing with more complex or technical customer requests, complaints and queries. You are often an escalation point for complicated or ongoing customer problems. As an expert in your organisation’s products and/or services, you share knowledge with your wider team and colleagues. You gather and analyse data and customer information that influences change and improvements in service.

Duration: 18 months

Level 3 Business Administrator 

The role is well suited to those wishing to progress within the business and further develop their skills in time management and communication. A business administrator may work across the whole organisation and therefore gather a wide range of knowledge and skills to aid this progression.

The role can include areas such as social media, quality processes and project management. The business administrator will have skills in a wide range of computer software and business systems used within the organisation.

Level 2 Accounts Assistant 

An accounts/finance assistant is an integral part of the team responsible for maintaining an efficient and accurate finance function within a business. They are responsible for assisting the team of accountants with junior accounting duties. These can vary massively depending on the team structure and size of the business.

An accounts/finance assistant’s work could include basic bookkeeping activities, working with sales and purchase ledgers, running calculations to ensure that records and payments are correct, and recording of cash and data entry.

This Level 3 apprenticeship is suitable for those wishing to begin or progress their career within early years education.
