Introduction

Chesterfield College is committed to making available to the public, as much information as possible, about the College’s activities.  This information may be made available by the College through published documents, including those on our website or upon request foirequests@chesterfield.ac.uk

Freedom of Information Act 2000

Chesterfield College have adopted the Model Publication Scheme and definition document provided by the ICO for colleges of Further Education.  The Model Publication Scheme lists the information routinely published by colleges which the ICO expects them to make available.  Further detail on the scheme can be found here.

How to Access the Information

In addition to the Scheme, organisations are obliged to produce a guide to the specific information held under each of the classes of information identified in the Scheme, unless the information is exempt under one the FOI exemptions or Environmental Information Regulation exceptions; they do not hold the information; or the release is prohibited under another statute; the information is archived out of date or inaccessible.  The following should be treated as the guide.

Who we are and what we do

Organisational information, locations and contacts, constitutional and legal governance.

What we spend and how we spend it

Financial information relating to projected and actual income and expenditure, tendering, procurement and contracts.

What our priorities are and how we are doing

Strategy and performance information, plans, assessments, inspections and reviews.

How we make decisions

Policy proposals and decisions. Decision making processes, internal criteria and procedures, consultations.

Our policies and procedures

Current written protocols for delivering our functions and responsibilities. Lists and registers. Information held in registers required by law and other lists and registers relating to the functions of the authority.

The services we offer

Advice and guidance, prospectuses, booklets and leaflets, newsletters, media releases.

Timescales

The College will respond to any requests for information in accordance with the Act’s requirement of 20 working days.  In cases of exemptions we will inform the applicant within the 20 working day limit.
