Summer Art & Design Exhibition is a hit with the wider community

Students from across Chesterfield College’s Art & Design courses celebrated their hard work last week, with an end-of-year exhibition of their final pieces.

The exhibition included work created throughout the year from photography, art, design, media and fashion students.

It was great to see so many members of the wider community, along with students’ friends and family, supporting the work created by such a talented group of artists.

Chesterfield College has a long history of supporting people across the region to develop skills for successful careers in the creative industries.

Exhibiting work is an important part of preparing students for working in a creative career, so the event was not just an opportunity to celebrate their success but also equip students for the future.

Georgie Long, Curriculum Operations Manager for Art, Performing Arts, Fashion and Photography said:

“Staff and students on the Art & Design courses at Chesterfield College have made a triumphant return from two years of Covid lockdowns with their fantastic Summer Exhibition. The preview evening was extremely well attended with friends, families and guests from the wider community appreciating the variety of creative outcomes on show. The standard of work was extremely high which has clearly contributed to our students securing their exciting future destinations. Huge congratulations to our 2022 cohort!”
