The modern automotive technician needs to develop a much broader range of skills than what has been traditionally taught. Today’s automotive technicians are responsible for identifying, inspecting, and repairing a wide variety of mechanical and electrical faults on motor vehicles, which involves using an ever-increasing range of diagnostic equipment that is advancing at an incredible rate. Professional technicians also need to develop customer care and communication skills to compete in an environment where reputation and customer experience matter most.
