Performing Arts Case Study

Matt Parker

Level 3 National Diploma Performing Arts

“The two years I spent at college were worth every minute! It taught me an awful lot about the Performing Arts industry, what is involved in and between getting work as an Actor/Performer, and a lot about the different styles/practitioners. This was extremely helpful for me as it broadened my knowledge on all things Performing Arts, and is certainly helping me out where I am now. We sometimes had guest speakers come in and share their personal experiences in and around the industry. The course itself is brilliant, but what’s an absolute gem of a bonus is the opportunities you are given throughout. An example of this is the 2013 Chesterfield College Cinema Advert I starred in which was offered as an open audition to our year, and I got the role! The Tutors are lovely, and will defiantly push you in the right direction to achieve your best potential! Finally the London trips are an amazing experience, full of fun, Theatre and memories to cherish.

My college course supplied me with exactly what I needed to get into the course I wanted at the East 15 Acting School based at Essex University. We had loads of audition prep lessons which really assisted me when picking my speeches to audition with, how I should do them (blocking, pronunciation etc.) They also helped me achieve top grades overall at the end of my second year, which were an added bonus to help my cause to get onto the course!”
