“From the minute I did BTEC engineering at school I knew it was the right subject for me, but after Year 11 I was looking for a much more practical hands-on way to study than school offered me at that point. I came in to college to have a chat with the lecturers and it was clear that I was going to like it here. Coming to college has been one of the best things I have ever done.
So far we have developed lots of basic engineering skills, from milling and turning to hand fitting and reading drawings. The assignments at college are also a lot more flexible than what they were at school. The tutors treat you like an adult and you can learn from their experience of working in industry too, which is great.”
