Influencer Campaign September 2022

We are so pleased to welcome our new students and our returning students back after the summer. We launched the influencer campaign last year to inspire students to think differently about the term ‘influencer’ and how their actions can inspire and help others throughout their time at college. We asked them to think about how you don’t have to be famous to be an influencer and how being an ally for mental health, being kind to others, challenging gender stereotypes and former students sharing their experiences can all have a positive influence on their peers and college community.

This month we are focusing on the theme “Community Champions”. Transitioning to college for some can be scary, the fear of the unknown creeps in and we start to worry about whether we’ll fit in, make any friends and we wonder what to expect, and whether we’ll like it. We have spoken to students to find out about their experiences of coming to college and what they have done to help ease any anxieties.

At college, we have multiple support systems in place to make the whole transition easier, from the wellbeing team to our LGBT society and several extracurricular clubs to help you find friends with like-minded interests and values.

We are starting this month’s campaign with Kieran Larner, a business student who didn’t have the best experience at school but couldn’t be happier with the experience he’s had here at Chesterfield College. Read his story.
