How to Make a Career Choice (Info for parents)

Figuring out what we want to do with our lives is difficult, what is the right or wrong choice, and how do we get there? The Careers team can help, but your child can help themselves by thorough research into options available AND by understanding themselves as best they can.  

Understanding what they like/dislike, their strengths/weaknesses, where they might like to work, and what skills they want to use will help them focus on what they want and need to do.  

Students can book a 1:1 careers appointment with a Careers Adviser if they need support with this by emailing careersteam@chesterfield.ac.uk, calling 01246 500500, or by coming to the Student & Apprentice Services Hub in the Heartspace to book an appointment.
