Securing skills for the professional world.

I chose to pursue a career in teaching at Chesterfield College because I saw it as a great opportunity to help others gain valuable experience for their future careers. Having been a student at the college myself, I had enjoyed my time here and wanted to give back by supporting and guiding students on their educational journey.

During my time as a student at Chesterfield College, I received exceptional support from the dedicated and passionate lecturers. Their expertise and guidance not only helped me excel academically but also played a crucial role in securing a job and acquiring all the necessary skills to succeed in the professional world.

Making an impact.

My apprenticeship focused on welding and fabrication, at a company called Flaretec alloys and equipment, allowing me to develop expertise in this specialised field. The hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge gained during this apprenticeship prepared me to tackle real-world challenges in the welding and fabrication industry.

After completing my apprenticeship, I was fortunate enough to secure a job in the field. Carrying over skills such as Welding Processes, MAGS, TAGS, marking up, cutting different materials, plasm cutting and more. I saw an opportunity to make a impact on the lives of students by providing them with the necessary skills and knowledge to succeed in the welding and fabrication industry. I applied for the teaching position at Chesterfield College through their online job portal, excited about the prospect of inspiring and mentoring future professionals in this field.

Creating a dynamic and enriching learning environment.

Looking ahead, my next plans involve embarking on a teacher qualification course that will equip me with the necessary skills to lead more lessons effectively. Harrys personal experience as a student at the college, combined with his practical expertise and commitment to teaching, allows him to create a dynamic and enriching learning environment for students pursuing their passion in welding and fabrication at Chesterfield College.
