L3 Diploma in Sport and Physical Activity (Football Pathway) – September 2024

Course Overview

This course will provide students with the knowledge and understanding around Sport Coaching, Organising an Event and an Athletes Lifestyle, whilst playing football as you study. In regards to the football offer, there is a team for everyone whether that is wanting to play competitively, or purely for participation. The games will involve playing over the country against different football league clubs such as Nottingham Forest, Stoke City and Aston Villa. In addition, you will also take part in two training sessions per week as well as other benefits. As part of the course you will benefit from experienced sports tutors who have industry experience in settings such as professional football clubs, local city councils and eduction. The unique benefit of this course is that it involves a great balance between theory and practical lessons. The football offer involves:

  • 2x 1.5 hour training sessions based at Queens Park Sports Centre – 3G Astro Turf Pitch
  • Up to 20 Games Per Season (Home and Away)
  • Home games to be played at Langer Lane
  • Mini Bus to be made available for Away Games
  • Entrance into the CEFA League
  • 1x Ticket for a fixture for the year
  • 1x Trip to the clubs home ground

Entry Requirements

Four GCSEs at grade C/4 or above (one must be in English or maths) or a relevant Level 2 qualification.

Progression

Upon successful completion of this course, you can choose to study the Level 3 Diploma in Personal Training or progress on to further study at a university (such as the Foundation Degree in Sports Coaching available at Chesterfield College) or enter employment.
