Course Overview
This course builds on your Level 2 skills and focuses on the underlying principles and advanced practical skills required in the hairdressing industry. Employability skills developed on the course will provide you with the skills to become an entrepreneur should you wish to start your own venture.Course Content
We base our courses on employment needs of the region. Therefore, you can expect to learn topics that are relevant to the industry. Your course will be made up of a mixture of core modules, that are essential to the course requirements, and units that you can choose to specialize in yourself. Modules include: Client consultation, Colour correction and advanced colour techniques, Perming, Advanced and creative cutting, Planning and delivering promotional techniques, Creatively dressing long hair, Bridal hair, Gents cutting, Health and safety, Employability Skills
Entry Requirements
A relevant Level 2 hairdressing qualification.
Assessment Methods
- Throughout the academic year you will complete more minor assignments and projects that will help guide you towards/give you the confidence to complete your course. Your final qualification will then be based upon assessment of practical skills in salon environment
- completion of on-line multiple choice exams
- assignments
- presentations
- and observation of inter-personal skills.
Progression
Upon successful completion of this course you can progress on to a variety of higher education courses, perhaps focusing on a business perspective should you wish to launch/progress your own business. You can also progress your employment in a stylist capacity.
