AAT Level 2 Foundation Certificate in Accounting (part time) – April 2024

Course Overview

This is the introductory level of the AAT Accounting Qualification. It covers a range of basic accounting practices and techniques, from costing and double-entry bookkeeping to digital accounting systems.

It is suitable for those who are new to accounting and finance, unqualified accounting staff who want to enhance their foundation knowledge and skills, employers looking to upskill their staff and people looking to change their careers. It is a course that really suits adults who would like to return to learning and develop their working skills.

It can lead to a job in finance: accounts administrator, payroll administrator or accounts assistant.

Apprentices study in class with fee paying students and take all the same exams. They work for an employer on the other 4 days a week.

This course runs Monday 9am-4.30pm (For April Starts), and Thursday 9am-4.30pm (For September Starts) for those wanting daytime study or Mon/Thursday 6pm-9pm for those who prefer evening classes (September starts only).

  • Principles of costing
  • The business environment

Entry Requirements

GCSE A-C/9-4 in English and maths, however this may not be essential for students over 19 with some finance work experience.

Progression

Typical progression is onto the Level 3 AAT Diploma in Accounting.
