T-Level in Design, Surveying and Planning for Construction: Surveying and Design for Construction …

Funding information: Please contact the college for funding information.
Duration: 2 Years
Attendance: Full-time Provision

Course Overview

Did you know that in 2020, England generated 53.6 million tonnes of non-hazardous construction and demolition waste? Did you know that we managed to recycle 93.2% of that waste? That’s a massive 50 million tonnes of recycling!

The construction industry is undergoing an exciting revolution. Our industry is working hard to support the UK’s mission to achieve net zero carbon emissions by 2050. To do that, we are training a new generation of construction professionals with a mix of traditional approaches and innovative technology to design and construct our future built environment using modern methods of construction.

Would you like to be a part of this future?

If so, this T-level course would offer you a robust entry into a rapidly changing industry. It has been designed and developed with industry leaders such as Arup, BAM Nuttall, Balfour Beatty, Galliford Try and Kier Group to provide you with employable and sought-after skills such as experience in emerging technologies including 3d laser scanning and Building Information Modelling (BIM).

As one of our T-level students, you would spend 315 hours on industry placement over course of two years gaining on-the-job experience to kickstart your career. You will complete an employer set project which has been designed to help you to synthesise theory taught in the classroom and apply it to real-life scenarios.

Our state-of-the-art classrooms provide students with industry-standard software and equipment to support delivery of subjects such as:

  • Design
  • CAD and manual drafting
  • Health and safety
  • Building technology
  • Measurement: building surveying
  • Measurement: Bill of Quantities
  • Project planning
  • Construction mathematical techniques

On successful completion of this course, you would have achieved a Level 3 T-level qualification which is the equivalent of three A-levels with the same amount of UCAS points.
