“After working my way up in the finance industry I realised that experience wasn’t everything and I needed a qualification to help me progress. I decided to study at college instead of university because it was more convenient, it’s also cheaper than university and the class sizes are smaller so I get more one-to-one time with my tutor which is nice.
This course has been amazing! I think if I’d have gone to university I would have really struggled but the tutors here have been great. They have lots of industry experience so they can teach you how to apply your knowledge to real life situations.
Sometimes I don’t think you realise your full potential until you return to education and someone shows it to you. It was during my time at college that I set up my own online pet shop. I never imagined that I would create my own business. Before this course I wouldn’t have a clue where to even start but I’ve learned so much over the last couple of years. The course has helped me to see things from different perspectives and I’ve learned so much about the legal side of setting up a business which has helped me a lot.
I’m now going to ‘top-up’ my qualification to a full honours degree at Sheffield Hallam University. I also want to focus on continuing to grow my business and hopefully when the times right, I want to venture in to making my own products. I love being my own boss and I’m excited to see where things go from here.”
