Your Admissions Journey

Below are the five stages that lead to enrolling at Chesterfield College. You may join this process at a variety of points depending on your age, experience and level of study.

Stage 1. How to Apply

When you have decided on the course you want to study, complete the online application form or paper based application form and return it to us. We are a Freepost address so you don’t even need a stamp. Application forms can be accessed via or requested from the Student Services Team. Forms are also available from your school. If you need help completing the form, please contact us on 01246500500, email us at or speak to your Careers Advisor in school. Once you have applied you will receive your Admissions Interview invite letter.

Stage 2. Admissions Interview

All applicants are offered an Admissions Interview so you can see how your course choice links to various industries, careers or university-level courses. This ensures the course is right for you and your career goals. This is also a chance to discuss any support you might need during your time with us. You will receive notification of when your Curriculum Interview is and where you’ll need to go.

Stage 3. Curriculum Interview and Activity

Ensure you follow the instructions on your curriculum interview letter to prepare for this stage. Depending on your course, please also see the additional tabs on this page that may relate to your chosen course. This gives you the chance to meet tutors, get to know them better, experience what the course will be like and to make sure you are on the right course. During the interview you will be advised of the course entry requirements which could include certain exam grades, relevant industry experience or a reference from an employer.

Stage 4. Offer

Following the Curriculum Interview and Activity you may receive a conditional offer. The conditions of the offer will have been discussed in the interview. If you don’t get the grades you were hoping for or don’t meet the entry criteria, don’t worry. We are able to advise you of alternatives available at college, just give us a call as soon as possible

Stage 5. Enrolment

Enrolment for courses usually takes place between July and September. You will receive a letter to invite you to a specific date nearer the time. Induction takes place during September along with the Fresher’s Fair to help you settle in to college life.
