This programme equips students with skills that can be transferred into personal, independent living. There are a range of different activities to particiapte in such as arts and crafts, cooking, gardening and recycling.

We’re here to aid progress to whatever the goal, whatever the personal aim, be that confidence, independence or employability/further study.

We boast a wide range of excellent facilities for every student to enjoy, from music rooms to sensory suite and kitchens, all supported by expert tutors that really do care. Our aim is progress and reaching those personal goals.

Course Structure

Students will work towards individualised targets to support their personal and social development. These will be embedded across the programme so that students work towards unit criteria in a way that is most relevent to the personal skills that they need to improve.

The units within the qualification are focused around:

  • Using ICT safely
  • Developing household skills
  • Understanding instructions
  • Asking questions
  • Confidence, independence and working with others

Entry Requirements

There are no formal entry requirements on foundation learning courses.

Fees and funding

Free for Eligible 16-18 year olds. Adult funding available dependant on learner circumstances otherwise course costs apply.

Progression

Following the completion of this course you could progress on to the Step Up programme that aids progression on to a vocational course pathway.
