Childhood Studies students raise cash for Bluebell Wood Children's Hospice

Childhood Studies students from Chesterfield College took part in a 10 mile sponsored walk to raise funds for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice last week. The enthusiastic and colourful group started their walk after an energetic warm up in Clowne. Student, Danielle Taylor cut the ribbon at the starting line and led the group on their hike to the Infirmary Road Campus of the college.

Students with personal experiences of how hospices work with children with shortened life expectancies suggested that the sponsored walk should raise cash for Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice.

Stuart Allen, Head of Learning for Health, Wellbeing and Society at Chesterfield College said “The students looked amazing in their brightly decorated t-shirts and fancy dress. The atmosphere along the route back to college was fantastic. Everyone was passionate about raising money for the hospice so we look forward to totalling up the sponsorship money as it comes in. We are expecting to be able to raise more than £500 for this very worthwhile cause.”
