Carpentry and Joinery raise Ashgate Hospicecare funds

Ashgate Carpentry and Joinery cheque

First year Foundation Carpentry and Joinery students have raised over £420.00 for Ashgate Hospicecare. Completing part of their Social and Development sessions, one task asked them to get involved in their local community so they decided to raise funds for the popular local charity.

The students decided what to sell, working out all of the pricing and costings. Alongside tutor Mark Conlon and Vocational Coaches Joe Atkinson and Tracy Singleton, the students made wine racks, Christmas tree decorations, decorative reindeers, tea light holders, bottle and candle holders. The students then helped to man a stall in the College heartspace during a variety of events to sell the items to staff, students and visitors.
