Students take part in festive sponsored walk
Over 150 students braved the cold and took part in an 11 mile sponsored walk from Clowne to Chesterfield College’s Infirmary Road Campus on Friday to raise money for the Get Lilia Movin’ campaign.
Childhood Studies, Health and Social Care, Sport and Public Services students donned festive outfits and set off on the walk on a freezing cold morning. Their aim was to raise money to help inspirational 4 year old Lilia, who has Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy, to access revolutionary treatment which will allow her to have more movement in her limbs.
Lilia and her mum came to cheer the students on at the start of the walk and thank them for their efforts. Students were inspired by Lilia’s smile and the determination of her family to give her the best chances to lead a full and active life.
The first students arrived back at college three and a half hours after leaving Clowne with a stop at Staveley Hall for a warm drink along the way.
