Top tips to get the most out of open day

College entrance

Are you coming to open day? Whether you are making choices about what to do after your GCSEs or returning to college as an adult looking for a new qualification to give your career a boost, here are our top tips to help you get the most out of your visit.

1)      Ask loads of questions

Come armed and ready with the questions you want answered. It’s the best way to find out what you want to know about studying at Chesterfield College. We can help to give you more information about your course, what it’s like to study at college, travel options and funding as well as what kind of things we offer in and out of lessons to help you get the career you want.

 2)      Have a look around

Have a good look around the college and the area you will be studying in. It will give you the chance to see the kind of work our existing students are doing and give you a feel for the place. Don’t forget to have a look at our Eatery and grab a coffee in Costa. Just ask a member of staff if you want to go on a tour.

 3)      Find out about college life

There is so much more to being a student at Chesterfield College than just studying for a qualification. Not only do we help you get vital work experience with some fantastic employers, there are lots of sports clubs, social clubs, trips and opportunities to get involved with fundraising and volunteering in the community.

4)      Explore all your options

Our advice and guidance team will be at the open day to help you work out the best route for you, whether that is full time study or an apprenticeship. The team will get to know more about you and your hopes for the future to help you work out the options open to you.
