Digital Technologies students learn from the best in the industry
Almost 90 digital technologies students went to EGX, the biggest gaming exhibition in the UK, in Birmingham recently to find out about the latest in games technology and gaming development. The trip was designed to give students the chance to research the industry and network with experts in the field ahead of their own game development project.
Students had the opportunity to see how both large and small game companies promote their ideas. They spoke to independent developers of cutting-edge games and found out how to break into the business. They also found out about the latest software being used in industry.
IT Lecturer, Laura Davidson said;
“The exhibition gives students the chance to network with developers, test games and try the latest equipment. Some of the virtual and augmented reality examples highlighted what is possible to achieve with this technology. The HND students build relationships with the indie developers and often continue these throughout the year.”
