Digital Tech Showcase raises over £200 for Ashgate hospice
As part of our Arts Festival 2017, Digital Technologies students held their showcase event 'Cloud 7' last week. Drawing a record crowd on the night, over £200 was raised for Ashgate Hospice by the students
James Thomson,Career Pathway Leader for Digital Technologies, explains “The Cloud 7 showcase provides an excellent opportunity for learners to demonstrate the skills gained throughout the year to local business and future students. A number of awards are presented for attendance and achievement which reinforce the value of positive progression.”
A wide variety of impressive digital works were displayed on the night, including a range of games designs and digital graphics.
The Digital Technologies team have had a great year, achieving some incredibly successful progressions including Sammy Bunting who is going to the University of Brighton to study Digital Games Production
and Ben Kerry who is going to Staffordshire University to study Games Journalism and PR. There's also been a large increase in applications for the department's HND, proving this industry continues to go from strength to strength.
